Find answers to the most common questions about Keepaa and building credit through circle savings.
All questions
What is Keepaa?
Keepaa is a credit-building platform designed to help immigrants in the UK build financial credibility through trusted circle savings models. We digitise traditional savings practices like Esusu, Ajo and Susu while reporting your on-time and late circle payments to credit reference agencies.
How does circle saving work?
Circle saving works by creating a shared savings circle with people you trust. Everyone pays the same amount on the same schedule, and each round one member takes the whole pot, in an agreed order, until everyone has had a turn. This ensures fair distribution and helps everyone reach their savings goals.
How is my information handled?
Signing up needs an email and mobile number. The identity check happens when you join a circle or make a first payment, and is run by an identity check service. Keepaa keeps the result only, not document images.
How much does it cost to use Keepaa?
Keepaa is free to join. Each contribution you make carries a flat platform fee (for example £4 per contribution), shown as its own line and never taken from the pot. Payouts are paid in full. Goals, which are personal savings, are free to pay into and withdraw from.
Read moreHow does the payout rotation work?
Each circle member is assigned a turn in the rotation order. Once everyone's payments have settled, which is about 3 working days after collection, the pot is paid in full to the member whose turn it is. This ensures fair access to funds and prevents any single member from taking all the money at once.
Can I withdraw my money before it is my turn?
For circle contributions, you must wait for your turn in the rotation and for everyone's payments to settle. The pot is then paid out automatically. Goals are different: you can pay into and withdraw from a goal at any time at no cost.
What happens if someone in my circle does not contribute?
On-time and late circle payments are reported. We provide tools to help manage circle dynamics and ensure everyone stays committed.
How do I invite people to my circle?
You can invite people by sharing a unique circle link or code. Only people you invite can join your circle, ensuring privacy and security.
Can I be in multiple circles?
Yes, you can join multiple circles for different purposes. For example, you might have one circle for a holiday fund and another for emergency savings. Each circle operates independently with its own rotation schedule.
What payment methods are accepted?
Circle payments are collected by Direct Debit. A card is only used as a backup if a Direct Debit fails. Goals are topped up by bank transfer.
